this past week, i found myself in a bit of a conundrum. the apartment i was hoping to sign for suddenly disappeared and was no longer available thanks to an untrustworthy realtor who gave it to another interested individual. although i’ve been bumming about it and was ready to continue looking for another space, i’ve also given more serious thought about moving in back home and commuting. it’s a big decision, and to be honest i’m not even sure how i’m going to make it happen or if it’s going to be feasible, but i think i am willing to try it out. as much as i would love to permanently live in new york right now, my budget doesn’t get me very far and i’d rather save that money and put it towards a nicer place next year or the following one. that being said, my bedroom at home hasn’t been updated since my childhood and i’m beginning to wonder if something needs to be done about it. as much as i love my floral decor and american girl dolls (remember those?) i don’t know if it’s what i want to come home to every night. at the same time, i don’t know if i’m willing to spend tons of money updating my bedroom at home. now i’m wondering: what do most people do if they find themselves temporarily moving in back home as adults?
