it’s been one of those mornings. i found myself wide awake at an ungodly hour with absolutely no hope of falling back asleep. normally, i would be excited that i was awake at 8:00 AM, but when it’s my day off from work and i am bored to tears around the house, it feels like punishment. 

a few days ago, i found the alexander wang prisma bag i’ve been coveting for ages on sale over at the corner. within 24 hours of my purchase, the credit card fraud system got a bit overeager and thought i was committing credit card theft. on myself. this has happened once before through a company by the name of yoox. 

knowing my luck, it is only fitting that the corner would be owned by yoox. you should have seen the look on my face when i saw the name “YOOX” next to the charge on my account. naturally, i thought i’d call and try to remedy the situation over the phone to avoid any problems. but then the lady told me that they were actually sold out of the bag. so i hung up and have now resolved to avoid any and all purchases through yoox and their affiliated websites.

if you’re wondering, i attempted to purchase the bag this morning through the alexander wang site itself. but lo and behold! yoox controls that too. ultimately, i placed the order through barneys. i’m hoping things go smoothly, but after reading their email and being warned that it can take them up to 5 business days to confirm if the item was actually in stock at the time of purchase, i would not be surprised if my order was canceled again. maybe i’m just not destined to own this bag? 

on a happier note, i headed to the mall yesterday evening to pick up a few things from sephora, as i was running low on my dramatically different moisturizing gel and nars eyeliner pencil. i also ran out of my laura mercier concealer, but opted for the perricone md one instead. this stuff is amazing. it actually conceals! i’ve been using it for the area underneath my eyes and i am super pleased despite the hefty price tag. and since i haven’t bitten my nails in over a month now (!!), i decided i was going to go for a bright chanel polish as a reward. holiday is the perfect tomato-orange red, and i think this afternoon’s goal will be to paint my nails. and continue to curse yoox.
