you guys, the summer solstice has arrived (ok, more like barged in out of nowhere). i had high hopes this morning that i was going to get some sun out on the deck so i could at least pretend like i was on an exotic vacation, until i realized that it was 95 degrees and promptly headed back inside. i’ve been getting free copies of lucky magazine sent to me courtesy of some promotion through sephora, and i picked up the june copy and decided to flip through it. then i saw this picture and almost cried. it’s just so perfect. silk floral pajama pants? on the beach? why has nobody thought of this? sadly, as much i would love to buy these for myself, i have nowhere to wear them. instead i will pine for them and continue to imagine all the beautiful vacations spots where i could flaunt these babies. saks has them in a different print if you’re interested.

happy monday everyone! sorry for the lack of posts last week, waitressing has suddenly taken over my life. things have been going well, particularly now that i’ve got the hang of it. it’s tough work though and i’m glad that i have the day off today to catch up on sleep and relax a bit. aside from work, i spent most of my weekend catching up with some friends and cleaning out my closet. my family and i spent father’s day at home just relaxing and eating lots of good food. what do you guys do yesterday? anything exciting?

happy monday everyone! things have been pretty quiet on my end, but it looks like i’ll be helping out at a family friend’s restaurant a few nights a week while i’m home for the summer. although i have absolutely no experience as a waitress, i’m looking forward to getting out of the house and keeping busy. i just hope i don’t screw up too many orders! i’ve been keeping my look pretty relaxed and easy with jeans and comfy tops. after a few weeks of bright nails, i’m back to neutrals. my latest obsession is essie’s topless and barefoot. what color have you been wearing on your nails? i’m always up for new recommendations!
